calibratr collects no data, tracks nobody and shares nothing. This page says what the apps do instead.

No collection, no analytics, no advertising

Neither the iPhone app nor the Mac app contains analytics, tracking or advertising libraries. There is no account, no registration and no server of ours the apps send anything to. We do not know who uses the apps and do not want to.

Camera

The iPhone app uses the camera to read the QR code from the Mac and to measure the colour patches on the monitor. Each shot is reduced on the device to averages over a few thousand sensor sites; the shots themselves are neither stored nor transmitted. Only those readings go to the Mac.

Local network

iPhone and Mac connect directly over your Wi‑Fi. The Mac runs a small server on your own computer for that; nothing leaves your network, and there is no internet service the connection passes through. That is why iOS asks for local network access the first time.

What is stored on the Mac

Every run is stored as a file with the readings and the report under “Library/Application Support/calibratr”, so you can look at it later. The installed colour profile sits in macOS's profile folder. Both stay on your computer; you can delete them at any time.

The purchase

The one-time purchase goes through Apple's App Store and is subject to Apple's privacy policy; we receive no personal data from it. The receipt, a record signed by Apple carrying the product and transaction identifiers without a name or payment details, is transferred from the iPhone to the Mac and stored there so the unlock survives without the iPhone.

This website

This site sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties. The web server writes technical access logs with truncated IP addresses that are deleted after a short time. The controller is FreshX GmbH, see the Legal notice.
